Thinking of Hiring a Landscape Designer?

Updated: Feb 12, 2021

Here's some tips and tricks to get you started...

One thing 2020 taught us is that we want to enjoy our time at home, and to make our home into our safe-havens. Here in Florida, we can enjoy our outdoor spaces year-round. By taking time to do a little advance planning, you can transform your green spaces to work for you all year - from the hottest days of August to the chilliest days in January. Of course you'll need to start by looking at what you have and then decide what you would like to do within that space. Do you want a firepit to enjoy a glass of wine? Do you have a hot tub or a pool? Try to envision what you can see youself doing.

Think Creatively — in the planning phase, think about different ways you might like your yard to look. No one way may suit you at first. It may take several drafts until you find something to commit to. Our professional designers can work with you to develop a few designs that will help you come down to a decision. Once you see it on "paper," your design is on the way from being a dream to a reality!

Select A Good Team — the design-build team works under a single contract with you to provide design and construction services. One entity, one contract, one unified flow of work from initial concept through completion! More coordination on the work and less hassle for you!

Ballpark Time — think about when you would like this to be completed. Collaborative project management means work is completed faster with fewer problems. That translates into more enjoyment time for you!

Basic Budget — estimate a budget for your project and remember that an integrated team is geared toward efficiency and innovation. Going under the umbrella of one company, you have less to think about and less hidden costs to anticipate. Think Easy!

List Questions — prepare questions to ask about the process. Your design-builders meet performance needs, not minimum design requirements, often developing innovations to deliver a better project than initially imagined.
